Submission Guidelines - Sounds
Last Updated: June 15, 2025
These guidelines supply information on Sounds Resource specific contributions.
What Is Acceptable?
✔️ Sound effects.
✔️ Short character voice lines.
✔️ General audio effects.
❌ Music.
❌ Instrument samples.
❌ Long conversational dialogue, such as for cutscenes.
❌ Large, confusing, unorganized submissions.
File Format Specifics
While you can only upload .zip archives, the audio files within your zip must be in .wav format unless the original file format was .m4a, .mp2, .mp3 or .ogg. Keep these as their original format!
Get Everything
While not strictly enforced, sound packs should be "as complete as possible". Being as thorough with a game is ideal for us as staff, you as the submitter, and the end user. Some games may have tools that don't support the full extraction of sound file from a game; that is fine. Just do your best to get as much as you can!
Organization
Your sounds should ideally be named, and organized into folders and individual zip uploads. Don't upload everything in one giant zip file. Where naming everything thoroughly isn't possible, please provide a note with your submission.
Credit Tags
Contributors may include a .txt file with their submission to provide information - your details if you wish, and helpful information where needed. Credit tags are often ignored, but the option is there if you want it.
