Not sure if you'll see this, but according to MarioWiki, they occasionally play when attacking/interacting with Bowser's wrecked car at the beginning of the final level of the main game.
Wait, sounds 00003151 through 00003172 are sound effects from Super Mario World and 00003173 through 00003182 are short music clips (most are simply the beginning segments) from SMW.
Did I miss people talking about this secret when the game came out or is it not used in the final game?
